To see John Pettit’s better proposal (2% the cost, solves most of the “problems” which the current courthouse has). See here. Note: Producing this option costs zero taxpayer dollars (compared to $500,000 for the county’s version) , took a few days to research (instead of four years).
OUR CONSTITUTION BEGINS WITH THE PHRASE “WE THE PEOPLE.” IT WAS THE FOUNDER’S INTENT THAT GOVERNMENT BE CREATED BY THE PEOPLE, TO SERVE THE PEOPLE. IT WASN’T THEIR INTENTION FOR THE PEOPLE TO SERVE THE GOVERNMENT. IT WAS ALWAYS INTENDED THAT GOVERNMENT WHICH FAILED TO SERVE THE PEOPLE SHOULD BE “ALTERED OR ABOLISHED.” UNTIL WE RETURN TO THE FOUNDER’S INTENT, WE REMAIN WE THE GOVERNED…

The proper term is “liquefaction” not “liquification.” Liquefaction maps, other than the one you referenced, are not easy to find. The one you referenced has most of the detail needed but one has to really focus in on the particular area and the roads are not named. I searched both Thurston County and Olympia. Oddly, the one map I found was for the county and had the city maps blanked out! It always seems that the deeper one digs the more corruption and incompetence one finds. 🙁
One should know that RCW 36.23.080 states “The clerk of the superior court shall keep an office at the county seat of the county of which he or she is clerk.” Note that is “AN” office and there is no requirement that the superior court itself be located there that I can find.
Thank you. Will fix this. I noticed this mistake last night, but forgot to make the spelling change.
By the way, this map and this information was presented to both the staff and the commissioners on multiple occasions, but Thurston County Staff, the City of Olympia, the vendors used to craft the plan, and the others who support this scheme have all tried to dismiss it, bury it, or pretend it doesn’t matter. The public has been kept in the dark on this issue.
Interesting how the City of Olympia pumps unfiltered Stormwater into Moxie Creek which adjoins with Indian Creek that flows to the same culvert under this property. You would think that the City of Olympia would be responsible for the cleanup and restore this Salmon run but when this was identified, the County Manager throws $13 million for the mess owned by the City of Olympia.
Next is Governor Inslee who directs state agencies to immediately ramp up culvert repairs ignored by Legislators because Indian Creek is owned by the State.
