A quick reaction to the 2020 Primary Election Results for the Governor, and Washington State's own political games behind the scenes

This was my initial reaction to the Washington State 2020 Primary Election Results last week – looking at the Governor race, and Washington State’s own political games behind the scenes. Also, a quick reaction to the Office of Superintendent Instruction election results.

OUR CONSTITUTION BEGINS WITH THE PHRASE “WE THE PEOPLE.”  IT WAS THE FOUNDER’S INTENT THAT GOVERNMENT BE CREATED BY THE PEOPLE, TO SERVE THE PEOPLE.  IT WASN’T THEIR INTENTION FOR THE PEOPLE TO SERVE THE GOVERNMENT.  IT WAS ALWAYS INTENDED THAT GOVERNMENT WHICH FAILED TO SERVE THE PEOPLE SHOULD BE “ALTERED OR ABOLISHED.”  UNTIL WE RETURN TO THE FOUNDER’S INTENT, WE REMAIN WE THE GOVERNED

  1. Dear Glen, I’m a 67 year old disabled women living on my SSI on Lopez Island. Randy Gaylord has decided to bring me up on charges for trying to take down so called “memorials” killed by cops signs on Fisherman Bay Rd. The signs have been torn down several times now and many many people want them down…I talked to public works and they would be happy to take them down but Gaylord said they were Political signs and to call him so I did. He would not talk to me or return my calls. I called him again today and said I would keep calling till he spoke to me. Someone from his office called me and they were sending me a packet in the mail and Gaylord was going to prosecute me. I kept asking for what, but she would not tell me. I asked why she called me. “Get an attorney” she said and the papers will be in the mail. Gaylord would not even talk to me, yet wants to prosecute me now for calling him and wanting those signs taken down! The police let me go and said I couldn’t take them down. People are pretty angry here about these signs! They have no place here on Lopez. Can you help? Sherry…

  2. There is an idea going around that since the Lt. Governor race is split between to democrats, thus dividing their votes, if conservatives wrote in a name, that person would have a chance to win. Is this correct and possible?

      • What hurdles do you see? My concern in addition to the difficulty of getting the word out for all Republicans to write in the same name is that money, time and attention focused on a write-in will take away from money, time and attention we should be paying to races that we have a good chance of winning.

        • Yep, that is the primary hurdle. Remember, it really does matter who takes point on the write-in effort and whether it is new money or just piggybacks on the slate cards and info handed out already.
